Tehroma has lived full time in Baja since 1994. She grew up traveling through Mexico during her childhood and lived in Buena Vista, as well as La Paz for HS creating life long friendships with local families. Tehroma has lived and traveled through Mainland Mexico and was born in Oregon, USA.
For years, Tehroma wore many hats in the construction industry, starting in 1994: she started in the kitchen cooking for crews, then transitioned to office work, book keeping and worked side by side with the company's accountant as their auxialiary before finding her love and life's passion in design and architecture. From 2003 to 2022,Tehroma's main focus, aside from leading the company forward alongside her business partner and husband Javier, was architectural design. Her learning is both empirical and academic, including 6+ years of working side by side with a talented Architect, 25 years working side by side with Civil Engineers and then earning her degree in Architecture in 2011 from AIU.
Tehroma stepped back from the world of Architecture in 2022 as the lead in her company to dedicate three years to ancient Healing Arts of Thai Massage &; Reiki, as well as, teach Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga. That time away from the design table served to refill her creative well.
After a 3 year hiatus from designing and all things construction, in February of 2025, she returned to the world of design and currently works full with Misael Ochoa Design & Construction.
Tehroma believes that the spaces that surround us -- buildings, walls, roofs, gardens, sky above, earth below, the environment we work, live and breathe in -- are as important to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing as is the space within our minds and hearts.
She loves the outdoors and in 2023, she moved with her husband and small dog to their
Cob Casita empty-nest cozily nestled into a beautiful desert hillside. Off grid and
completely surrounded by nature with no neighbors in site and a bumpy three-mile
dirt road drive from the nearest highway, she feels completely and utterly at home.
It is a privilege to live closely connected to the natural world, to listen deeply to the
sounds of silence, birds and breezes; to see the horizon in the distance, mountains
surrounding, watch the desert transform with little drops of rain and notice the
changes in the season as each day the sun rises a little further south. Tapping into
this deep quiet on a regular basis is foundational for her mindfulness practice, an
ongoing awakening of the senses and deepening in embodied presence.
Tehroma brings her dedication to the arts, healing and creation to every design. She believes in the power of deep listening, creative collaboration and that every space we create should be unique, beautiful and livable.
