Bridges & Breaths: Connecting the world through home practice.

Online opportunities offer us a bridge to connect. I feel comfortable teaching online now, and that is a big deal for me.
In 2020, when yoga studios closed and teachers moved their classes online, I watched from the sidelines. While so many were admirably figuring it out, I planted myself in front of my computer—not to teach, but to immerse myself in design. To be honest, the idea of getting in front of a camera terrified me. It was the safer, easier choice at the time, and that was okay.
Then in 2021, I enrolled in a two-year online program that connected me with colleagues around the globe. I met monthly with a mentor in the US and five peers from across Europe and India—living in the UK, Brussels, Spain, Berlin, Austria, and the Netherlands. We met twice monthly, navigating time zones and celebrating our diverse cultural backgrounds. Deep friendships were born; connections I never would have forged without our regular online gatherings.
Last year, as I began teaching online to connect with friends and family, I realized that those years of practicing with my peers had infused in me a natural presence on screen.
Teaching online is not a performance, and it is not perfect. I see technical glitches like traffic: just as an unexpected detour might slow us down on the way to a studio, a computer resetting is just "life happening." In person or online, perfection isn’t the goal—connection is.
Personally and professionally, I’m feeling really good about how far I’ve come since 2020. I’ve gone from practically sprinting in the opposite direction to enthusiastically offering these opportunities to connect. Since January 2025, the experience has been so enriching. I get to see a longtime dear friend and student in Cuernavaca, and another student who recently moved to Guanajuato joins us regularly.
My offerings tend to draw small, intimate groups. Welcoming even one new person is a highlight for me because it isn’t about the numbers; it’s about the relationship.
If you feel like joining me for an online class—even just one to see how it feels—reach out! I’d love to connect.
Yoga isn't a performance or a competition; it is a practice accessible to every body. I am here for anyone curious to deepen their practice or try it for the first time.
You are even welcome to join with your camera off just to listen and see if this space is for you.
I am here .. and is Ollie is too.
